What role does the water film on the surface of Wet Curtain Paper play in the cooling process?

1. Heat absorption and evaporation

When hot air flows through the wet curtain paper of the wet curtain wall, the water molecules in the water film absorb the heat in the air and evaporate. This process follows the natural physical phenomenon of "water evaporation absorbs heat", that is, water needs to absorb a large amount of heat (latent heat) when it changes from liquid to gas. Therefore, the evaporation of the water film can effectively take away the heat in the air, thereby reducing the temperature of the air.

2. Enhanced cooling effect

Since the water film covers the entire surface of the wet curtain paper, it provides a large evaporation area. When the air passes through the wet curtain paper, the moisture in the water film evaporates at multiple points at the same time, thereby enhancing the cooling effect. This large-area evaporation enables the wet curtain paper to significantly reduce the temperature of the air in a short time.

3. Keep the air moist

In addition to cooling, the water film can also keep the air passing through the wet curtain paper at a certain humidity. This is very beneficial for some places that need to maintain a certain humidity (such as greenhouses, plantations, etc.). Humid air helps to improve the indoor environment and improve people's comfort.

4. Promote air circulation

In the wet curtain cooling system, the wet curtain paper is usually used in conjunction with a negative pressure fan (or exhaust fan). When the negative pressure fan is working, it will generate negative pressure, allowing the hot air outside to enter the room through the wet curtain paper. In this process, the water film not only plays a role in cooling, but also promotes indoor and outdoor air circulation. This circulation helps to keep the indoor air fresh and flowing.
